Literary Agency

Looking for an Agent Who Responds Quickly?

I will respond to your submission within three weeks. Writers deserve the courtesy of a response, not months of silence.

Since 1979, I have worked in sales, in the publisher’s office (Berkley Books), as an acquisitions editor (Dodd,Mead), managing editor (Bantam), and packager for such publishers  as McGraw-Hill,  Doubleday, and Fairchild. I started my agency in 2011. In 2015, I will start my agency imprint, Wayland Square Editions,  which will focus exclusively on writers who have had a series discontinued by one of the large publishers. The first publication will be The Nassau Secret, by Gregg Loomis, in May 2015. Translation rights to this book have already been sold to publishers in Holland and Turkey.

What am I looking for?

I am especially looking for narrative nonfiction, biographies, and books on history, literary lives, and science.  It helps if you are an expert on your subject and that you have a platform.

I am also looking for cozies, thrillers, and literary fiction.
